am totally sick of a few brain dead, bigoted, bureaucratic idiots
dictating how we should think and act in spite of our history,
patriotism and individual thinking. They do not have the right to change
facts to suit their twisted minds or to tell me not to say what I want
to because it might offend someone. That is for the someone who may, and
in most cases it is a very big 'may', to tell me. If I want to fly my

| It
never ceases to amaze me how those who continually preach the doctrine
of 'tolerance' are often the most intolerant people you will ever meet.
They are vindictively intolerant of anyone who does not share their
agenda and seem to have no problem in causing offence, even though they
intolerantly forbid anyone else from doing so. All they are trying to do
is socially engineer the pre-revolutionary breakdown of society that
they so desperately crave. They will then substitute freedom and
traditional British Christian values with a state controlled tyranny
where any form of tolerance will be well and truly a thing of the past.
We must never be fooled into thinking that political correctness is just
the harmless aim of well meaning bureaucrats. We must not underestimate
them. They are clever, determined, patient and now very powerful. All
that's required for their success is for us to sit and do nothing. |

an ex police officer, I am disgusted at Lothian and Borders Police and
other police forces engaging in pathetic political correctness. The
Sunday papers stating that the police have announced that they will put
more resources and effort into investigating complaints from Muslims
than other complainers is utterly unbelievable. They also advertise
stating that they particularly welcome applicants to join the police
from the ethnic and gay etc groups!!! Surely it is the 'best person for
the job' that should be securing jobs with the police and other
employment agencies. No wonder this country is in such a terrible state.
I am also against the European Human Rights legislation destroying our
national safety with regard to criminals, criminal records and

| By
far the best written and most thought-provoking book I have ever written
is Nineteen Eighty Four by George Orwell. When I first read it in the
mid-70s I had little idea how prophetic it would turn out to be. But
now, as new examples of 'doublethink' get added daily to our vocabulary
(e.g. 'positive discrimination') I realise it is well past time to stop
laughing at PC. While most of us were too busy chuckling, we allowed a
few good intentions to morph and mushroom into the acceptable face of
racism and sexism. Hardly funny! So whenever people rebuke me for
politically incorrect comments, I accept the compliment proudly -
because the fightback can wait no longer - and a commitment to common
sense, free speech and genuine equality should always be proudly
treasured. |

I
strongly believe that the treatment of Ghurka soldiers that have served
this Country in battle is an absolute disgrace, particularly when set
against the liberal treatment of illegal immigrants.
We have allowed a situation to develop where people who have put their
lives on the line for the Country have historically been treated less
favourably than people who have done nothing but use this country as a
base to either work illegally or commit crime.
Even after we uncover such activity we are then unable to deport them
due to Human Rights legislation and/or a total absence of political will
due to politically correct attitudes that prevail amongst many of the
liberal elite that allegedly run this Country.
I appreciate that the law has changed to allow more recent serving
soldiers to settle in the UK but this does not do anything to help those
that served over many decades and who now live in conditions worse than
most criminals jailed in this country.

I
am an Englishman and proud of both England's and Great Britain's
achievements as a nation. We have never been perfect but we have always
striven to better ourselves as a country and our reputation is typically
pretty good (except maybe for football hooligans), however since
political correctness crept up on us (laughable issues at first) and
taken a foothold (nowadays it's getting serious) I feel that I am
discriminated against (both racially and sexually) all in the name of
political correctness. I feel I have to perpetually think very
carefully before I speak so as not to offend anyone. If I was looking
for a job in the public sector I know that if I am up against someone
who looks different to me or is female I probably don't stand a chance
even if I am the better suited candidate with more experience or
qualifications. That's silent, unrecognised, accepted and legalised
discrimination. Could it be any worse?
We are a nation built on tradition. It defines us. Why should we give it
all up? I don't want to give up any of our traditions and don't see why
they would be deemed offensive to others. And if they are then they
should just live with it. But I suspect virtually nobody does find them
offensive or at least didn't until some do-gooder suggested they might
be. I don't have an issue with other cultures celebrating theirs but
this oppression is making me feel like an alien in my own country.
It's good to see well respected people like the Arch Bishop of York and
Sir Trevor MacDonald airing their views against this ridiculous tide of
stupidity. Like these two gentlemen, many people have come over to the
UK and made it their home and no doubt are proud to call it their home.
They deserve a medal for being so brave.
We should all be allowed to have the freedom to celebrate our cultural
individualism. We would never expect other religions to give up open
celebrations of their festivals so why do some "do-gooders"
expect us to do it with ours. I am not personally religious but I feel
Christmas should be Christmas. And there is nothing wrong with words
like "blackboard", "Manhole", "Chairman"
etc.
As an Englishman I am definitely going to enjoy a few pints of good real
ale on St. George's day and I certainly hope there will be people of
different colours and cultures joining me!
We are Britain, let's be "great" again. Down with PC, up with
freedom of speech :-)

agree wholeheartedly with the aims of the website: At last, people with
common sense are beginning to speak out against the PC drivel that
politicians, government departments and local councils are constantly
foisting upon us - without our consent and against our will. Anyone who
disagrees with their poisonous agenda (for whatever reason) is
immediately met with the left screeching "Islamophobe!","Racist!","Homophobe!"
etc. They do this calculatingly and cynically in order to close down
opposition. A crafty tactic - I think you will agree. I think
there is a very clear danger that banning particular words/Xmas
parties/Union Jack flying etc for fear of upsetting minorities can and
will lead to broad resentment of the minorities in question. Which is a
shame, because its invariably NOT the minorities who are imposing these
divisive and idiotic guidelines upon us. Most people reach
adulthood with an attitude of not wanting to offend others. We want to
get on with life and be happy. It is in the nature of a social creature
to want to fit in with their peers. We mostly arrive at this philosophy
as we are growing up and learning to be adults and fit into society. If
we want something we say 'Please', if we get something we say 'Thank
you'. We get these things from parents, grandparents and teachers. This
way of doing things has worked perfectly well since the beginning of
civilisation. |

From
a Nation who welcomed visitors and migrants who diversified our
community; we have been driven to prejudice. Even the most liberal
amongst us are being pushed to this view. It is NOT the fault of the
'alien', it is the 'recycled yoghurt knitters' who have created the
'positive discrimination' society. Second rate people are offered jobs
because if the white, 10th generation Brit who was undoubtedly better
qualified and experienced got the job, the employer could be sued and
possibly put out of business because of 'discrimination'. Make a new set
of laws built around COMMON SENSE! The ancient and original laws were
based on morals and common sense! Also, when in Rome, DO AS THE ROMANS
DO!!! Also, we British are well known for our sense of
humour. When you analyse it, MUCH of our humour is most definitely
NOT PC yet far from being found offensive, it is frequently those who
are the 'butt' of the joke who tell the best! eg the best Scouse
jokes come from Liverpool and the best Irish jokes come from Ireland
etc. We seem to be being TAUGHT to take offence so the 'skill' of
delivering a sensitive joke withOUT being offensive is being lost from
the British identity.

Two
news stories from the last couple of weeks lead me to research CAPC and
sign the petition. I was outraged to hear about the hair salon that is
currently being fined for not employing a girl who refused to remove her
headscarf (islamic head wear) whilst working as a hair dresser. Why
should this be treated differently to an employer asking you to wear
appropriate shoes for a job? Some jobs are simply unsuitable for some
people. A tattooed and pierced man who refused to remove his piercings
and cover his tattoos would not make a suitable P.E teacher or a school
receptionist in the same way that you wouldn't trust somebody with the
styling of your hair who doesn't like to show her own in public. Insane.
The second news story which caught my attention was the one about police
apologising to the muslim community in Dundee for launching a very
successful advertising campaign for their new non-emergency telephone
number which featured a puppy in a police man's hat. Dogs may be
considered unclean in islamic countries, this is not an islamic country,
dogs are a feature of British life. Certain individuals may disagree
with my choice to show my hair, something which I shall not apologise
for in Britain - if i did however, visit an Islamic country, I would
respect their beliefs and way of life and adhere to it. Respect ours and
stop asking for apologies (and the British should stop acting like
scared pussies and offering them) for things that are clearly normal in
the average British man's way of life. People move to Britain for a
reason - be thankful for the benefits and stop searching for problems -
this is how ghettos and separation are caused. |

an excellent site . A few months ago I was rereading The Screwtape

struck at how accurately Lewis described the outcome of policies which
our successive governments have, since then, implemented . I think CS
Lewis would have supported our views. His was a voice of warning back
when Britain was still relatively sane. We have had two children
go through the University system and they soon learnt that to get top
marks (or even pass) they had to give answers which reflected the
university's worldview - they both graduated with 1sts. They found it
hard as they had been home educated and so taught to think for
themselves. Even our son's outdoor education degree course was full of
feminist junk !!! My husband works for a Danish company and
travels for them and says that other European nations consider the UK to
be a joke the way we are slavishly following the PC and Health and
Safety agenda. What is it with this country? I received a news review

I'm
a gay man, and I would think it pointless, hypocritical, and bizarre to
ban heterosexual couples from going to their prom for example.
There are already laws against the incitement of violence. Beyond that
what do we need? The freedom of speech is not just the freedom of the
speaker, BUT THE FREEDOM OF THE LISTENER. Everyone may talk about
PC being there to protect people against being "offended"
which is so vague as to be pathologically stupid. Prevention of an
actual crime is one thing, but prevention of free speech on the basis
that it might offend someone is just dumb. People offend me all the
time, I deal with it. And I differentiate between those who are just
offensive and those who mean me real physical harm. Now the region of
emotional abuse is a separate issue and a very real thing. Threatening
behaviour which places the individual in fear of his/her physical
security, is wrong. Nativity plays are not. Imagine if a large English
population took up residence in Tokyo - would we demand the removal of
all Japanese new year festivities at the local school because it offends
us? I don't think so. There's a real distinction to be made he between
intention to threaten/cause psychological distress or incite violence,
and to simply wish to continue cultural traditions. Minorities should
just be allowed to choose whether or not to participate in the
mainstream, and should be provided a space in which they can practice
their own things. It is not political correctness which changes things
for the better, it's people who stand up and tell the truth. Political
correctness identifies people by their estrangement from one another,
and creates sectarian sentiment. It's beyond stupid, it's banality at
its most destructive.

diversity initiatives but it's the outcome that matters. We now need to
put in place some serious enforcements if we are not to have another
speech like Lenny's in 10 years." In politics, the deputy
leader of the Labour Party, Harriet Harman, is considering the
possibility of all-black shortlists to increase the number of ethnic
minority MPs at Westminster.
These above statements really annoy me as there is no such thing as

| Political
correctness is killing Britain. It is a system of denying truth and
controlling the population by fear. New Labour have ruthlessly pursued a
policy of reverse Apartheid. They aim to totally destroy British
identity by making us feel ashamed of our past in the hope we will look
to them for moral guidance. The attempted mind control and social
engineering since 1997 is akin to Germany in the 1930's. The country
needs a strong advocate of common sense to halt the tide of political
correctness. |

Saturday night I was in a pub in Greenwich and was delighted when a
group of Carol Singers arrived. Contrary to what the PC brigade would

listened and showed their appreciation, others ignored the seasonal

There are plenty of other examples which demonstrate that Christmas does

16, and so admittedly do have very little knowledge of political
correctness, and the issues it raises, but I'd just like to say that I
agree with your views. I always thought that being told you can't
say "black sheep" because it might offend black people was
incredibly stupid. Doesn't simply saying that highlight the fact that
they are different and therefore ostracise them? I find it shockingly
and frustratingly stupid that people do not think about these kind of
things. If I'm 16 and have caught onto it, why haven't they?!! I do
worry - these are the people that run our country. I never
realised how far it stretched as well. A friend mentioned that the
teachers at her younger sister's playgroup were not allowed to teach the
children the nursery song "The Farmer Wants A Wife", in case
the farmer was gay and wanted a husband. At that age, children
will not understand or recognise any political issues - they merely
enjoy the song. Forbidding the song only encourages ignorance of the
choices people make. If children grow up knowing nothing about racism,
homophobia, sexism, etc. they will only reject it even more when they
encounter it when they grow up, because it is different. |

are destroying us all. I say this as a former working class socialist
voter. They are destroying our culture, our history, our future, they
are destroying everything...The class of 60, the anarchists, ban the

student idealism, but nevertheless, today, after outmanouvering the rest
of society, they have become our leaders. They seek, at every
level of society, to put forward their warped idealism and wishful
thinking, as serious philosophies and logic. Not believing in any
gods, picking and choosing what part of Darwin they agree with, they are
the 'new' masters of evolution and the universe. Any mild objection
about the logic, morality, or sustainability of their 'brave new world'
bring forth the (discussion ending) cries of Racist, Fascist,
reactionary...PC is just a gentle term for a brainwashed zealot's crazy
ideas on the shaping of society and humanity towards equality, despite
all logic that points to the reverse. Unless all the liberals with
leadership rolls are replaced with people with a brain, sense of

So,
a thinktank (has just published a report that recommends Christmas be
downgraded in the name of Mutliculturalism and Diversity. Obviously. I
am actually struggling to find the words to express my views on this
matter, and even if I could, I don’t think they would be suitable for
this site. So I’ll leave it!
Another aspect of the report apparently bleats on about the fact that
the English countryside is dominated by white faces and is woefully
underrepresented by ethnic minorities. Excuse me, but where do these
morons get off? As far as I am aware, the countryside is there to be
visited and appreciated by anyone who wishes to do so. I am also fairly
certain that the black and Asian communities are aware of its existence.
I am a frequent visitor to the countryside myself and, on my last visit,
I didn’t notice too many signs stipulating ‘White Heterosexuals

One
of the most pathetic of examples of PC is the golly. This much-loved toy
and it is much loved, has been around for over a hundred years, when
Florence Upton first wrote her books using the golliwogg, (it was spelt
like that then,) as a hero, yes a HERO. He became so popular that toys
were made of him, perfume bottles with golly heads were sold and all in
all, he was an incredibly popular figure. What amuses me more than
anything else is that as soon as a story hits the papers saying that
someone has been arrested or complained about for daring to put this toy
in their shop windows, they sell all their gollies and local bear shops
find their golly sales rise by 200%!! There is only one reason for
political correctness, (what a stupid expression that is!) and that is
to stir up racial hatred. It is usually a white person who complains
about them, and they have no idea at all of where the golly originates
from. A survey was done in Birmingham after a local man in Staffordshire
was complained about for putting gollies in his shop window and not one
person, black or white, could see anything wrong with them at all.
I suggest that the powers that be grow up and stop trying to stir up
trouble. Stop this stupidity now!!

Isn't
it ironic if we do not agree with these morons in power, we are called
such convenient names such as nazi, fascist or racist. Yet they are the
ones going around telling people what to think and say, just like the
fascists did. They also come up with such wonderful ideologies as to
what racism is, for example rewriting the nursery rhyme baa baa black
sheep to baa baa multicoloured sheep - things no normal person would
deem as racist. Perhaps it is these people who have challenging
racial issues and who need to address them and leave the rest of us
alone.

I
feel that political correctness is just stupidly complicating speech and
works to destroy freedom of thought. This is due to many of the
actions that are being taken by governmental, business and European
bodies. Christmas is Christmas for example, not some stupid multi-religious
rubbish, the same as Passover is Jewish and Fathers' Day is a commercial
thing started to boost revenues for the card companies. The
modification of speech reminds me of the Orwellian classic
"1984" with it's newspeak. It is very wrong, as is the
creation of a seemingly totalitarian society as we are beginning to
experience here in the United Kingdom. It has been tried and
tested in the USSR, the GDR and in Nazi Germany. It fails in the
end.

I
worked in local government for 25 years and was constantly amazed at the
excuses given for why terms had to be changed. Often it was not the
people affected who were ever offended, most did not care, it was always
others being offended on their behalf. I am Scottish and found it
laughable that someone would seek to eliminate things that might offend
me, having been brought up on the streets of Glasgow I actually know how
to fight my own battles.

We
MUST stand against this 'thought fascism'. Next time someone at work
tells you you mustn't say something or exchange Christmas cards, ask
them WHY. No doubt they'll reply that it is 'offensive to
non-Christians' or something equally stupid. So ask WHY anyone who came
to Christian Britain would find Christianity offensive. Listen to their
argument fall apart. If they carry on being stupid, ask them to find a
member of staff who finds Christianity offensive. Of course they won't
be able to. Now's the time to ask them WHY they are so stupid. PC is
very shallow and depends entirely on threats and smears. Don't have any
truck with it.

I'm
astounded to see such incredibly pathetic, short sighted Politically
Correct statements of pure stupidness. I live on the Isle of Man and
it's about 5 years or so behind the times (if you can call them that)
and to hear of such nonsense is truly amazing.
I'm not racist and I've black, brown, red, and yellow friends to name
but a few, but if anyone tells me that my trousers or bin bags aren't
black, then I would consider THEM RACIST, as my words are meant as a
word and not a damaging insult. Let's face it, I'm supposed to be
white but I'm more of a pinky colour and my friends aren't black, as
they're not a distinct black as like stated before, my trousers. As
for the English (I'm Manx) being told that they can't put up their St.
George flags in case it upsets someone of another culture is so racist,
it's unbelievable! As far as I'm concerned, the traditions and identity
of a nation are extremely important and if tourists or immigrants
object, then as far as I'm concerned, they shouldn't come here. I don't
object to other nations customs and traditions when I go on holiday, so
why the difference here?

years ago, when my wife and I lived in England, I used to fly a small St

skin-head ? No - a patriotic Scotsman who felt incensed that
anyone should tell any Englishman that he must not fly a St George's
Cross in England. We never had anyone complain - perhaps because
they noticed that my wife - who agreed wholeheartedly with my views and
was just as ready to defend this right - was very obviously Chinese.
Here in Malaysia the Malaysian national flag is flown everywhere - it
was even painted on a wall measuring half a mile to celebrate Merdeka.

From the Past
What have you done to my Country?
That I gave my life fighting for?
Did you cherish the freedom I left you?
Or did you lose it forever more?
I died protecting these precious Isles,
From that great dictator of old,
So that HE would never rule over us,
Nor remove our reserves of gold.
You lay your wreaths at the Cenotaph,
Wear the poppy upon your lapel,
Yet those that made the supreme sacrifice
Are not here their tales to tell.
Stand up straight as you stand at the Cenotaph,
As the brave march past, heads bent low,
T’was not they that betrayed our memory,
Who it was in your heart, you well know.
For those in whom WE placed our trust,
Such treachery by them has been shown,
On the people once more the burden will fall,
Till the new battle for freedom, be won.

PCness
is awful. The 'eggshell society' it has created is woeful.
People stumble through speech in case the 'wrong' thing is thought, let
alone said, self-censoring as they go. A healthy society is a
straightforward one. The legal system needs to reflect this too.
No more awards for 'injured feelings'. The lack of perspective
endemic in modern Britain is nigh on pathetic. People need to
travel more, be exposed to more real life struggles - against hunger,
disease, nature itself - instead of naval gazing! I used to play
in a football team that was pretty much 50-50 split black guys and white
guys. At the end of each indoor training session, we'd play 5 vs
5. The easiest way to 'dress' the teams: shirts off, play in
skins, black vs white. Simple. No bones. No injured
feelings. No PC nonsense. The sheer practicality and
openness of it won the day and only served to strengthened the team.
No 'PC eggshells' there. Glad to have found your campaign.

I
have always hated "Political Correctness" or more correctly
Linguistic Fascism and always go out of my way to rubbish it. However,
one thing that really oils social relationships is good manners and so I
will usually offer to get coffee for friends and colleagues. But only I
can get away with making coffee and destroying the PC culture at the
same time. So my standard question when asking who wants coffee is
"Who wants non-white and who wants non-black?" and it works
particularly well and sets people at ease in our very mixed group. So,
two-fingers several timers over to the PC fascists!!! Oh yes, and
the last seminar, I deliberately used that highly contentious

In
the first half of the last century many people fought and died to
maintain our freedom. In the foreword in 1962 to a book about the
2nd World War, Air Vice Marshall Donald Bennett wrote, “Freedom and
justice are not vague or empty ideals. They are real and practical - but
we have lost a great deal of freedom, and justice is impoverished and
fitful. Have the people who saved us in war, lost in fact in peace? We
who live on have a duty to see that the petty tyrants who have arisen in
our community are denounced and removed.”

I
think Political Correctness is a plague on society. People nowadays go
to such great length to avoid offending others. Yesterday I was at
the beach enjoying the water, the sand, and the sun. In the old days
children used to run around naked everywhere and it was no problem. I
thought I'd let my two children do the same. Since it was so hot I
allowed them to take off their clothes and they went about building a
sand castle. All of a sudden, a mother nearby approached me and
told me to clothe my children because she was offended by their
nakedness. I told her they're just children, but she kept harassing me.
Believe it or not, she then called the police and they demanded that I
clothe the children because it may offend others. What ever happened to
freedom of expression? I suppose I have a nostalgia for the old days
when we didn't have the sensationalist news media constantly scaring
people about child molestors. Things used to be simple back then but now
everyone is offended by everything.

to see someone's sticking up for common sense. "Political

smug middle class liberals scoring points off each other by
"positive" racism while accusing others who wish to debate an

minority rights above the majority, above national security, above

How can it be seen as racist when we are after all...in England.
Everyone I spoke to said they were going to go and buy an England shirt
if they didn't have one simply to show disgust at this blatant
discrimination. I am not racist at all but all this PC nonsense doesn't
make things better it simply brings things to light that people never
thought about or were never bothered about. No muslims I spoke to would
be offended if I wore a cross necklace for example, whereas I am
offended if I am told I cant wear one, it only makes things worse. One

I
worked for a while as a labourer on a building site in West Yorkshire.
At the start of my time working there I had to attend a health and
safety talk and run down of the site rules. So far so good they are
dangerous places to work. Towards the end of the talk the issue of
workmen not being allowed to remove their tops or to shout or whistle
things at female passers by was addressed. Health and safety joining the
force of political correctness in mutual smug satisfaction. I smiled and
nodded and signed the paperwork confirming I would comply and then went
to work. After about 90 minutes I was called to the site office to
discuss my behaviour. I informed the management that I had broken
no rules and they finally had to admit defeat and reluctantly I was
allowed back to work. Once working I continued to work wearing
just my bra (on top) and heckle male passers by to the delight of many
and the frustration of the other workers. Being female I feel I
struck a blow for their ridiculous attempts at political correctness and
would beg any builder or building company out there to remember that

Having
read through your pages the PC situation is much worse that I realised.
Of course nearly all the examples are from government controlled bodies
(or companies relying on government work) where employees dare not go
against the dictates of their superiors or they will be disciplined, and
could destroy their promotion prospects (and pensions). So it is
sometimes unfair to blame the individual for being stupid, because they
have to comply with instructions. If people were more confident that
they could not be charged with breaking the law then I'm sure there
would be many more people who would be more assertive and challenge
these idiots head on. The reason PC has got such a hold is because
people have been afraid to respond with politically incorrect language
because they fear they are breaking the law. Yet we don't hear of court
cases involving people using racist language like "blackboard"
and "black coffee", etc, because it would be laughed out of
court. What could a council do if I set up a voluntary Playgroup
where parents brought their children to play with other children under
the supervision of all their own parents? Because of ignorance people
retreat when threatened by a council rather than challenge them. I
know I have used some politically incorrect expressions here for which I
am not going to apologise, so I guess I will have to attend a diversity
course given by a well paid, government trained parrot. If I am ever
challenged about referring to Christmas, black something, brainstorming
etc then my answer will be "How dare you tell me what I can say or
not say!

Political
Correctness is simply Cultural Marxism, an ideology developed first in
1914 to undermine traditional western values in part through Critical
Theory. It leads to (and has led to, I believe) a totalitarian
state. PC also replaces laws of libel, slander and common decency
with restrictions on freedom of thought, choice and speech. We
have called the movement of cultural Marxism "Political
Correctness" and laughed it off, but it is a genuine threat.
We have let PC into the UK, it is getting stronger and it will in the
end destroy, as it seeks to destroy, everything that we have ever
defined as our freedom and our culture.

I
am British but currently living and working in the States. I want to
share a story about how you can be more equal than someone else.
Recently I watched a story unfold in Detroit concerning a youth who had
shot a man in the head outside a night club. The man survived but was in
a coma. The judge convicted the youth to the maximum sentence that could
be imposed - 12 years. The usual sentence for such a crime was 6 years.
Why did the youth get the maximum sentence - because he had committed a
hate crime. The man he shot was gay. The judge decided he had shot the
man because he was gay. Although I agree with harsh sentences for
criminals, this infuriated me. Why was a shooting a gay man worse than
shooting anyone else. Go and tell the family whose daughter was shot in
the street, or the family whose heterosexual son was shot and is still
in a coma why their attackers got lighter sentences. I am sure that the
people who randomly shot these other two victims for no apparent reason
didn’t like them or love them - therefore they must have committed a
hate crime. Or what about the husband who shoots his estranged wife, I
am sure he must have hated her to shoot her? But these are not hate
crimes, so whatever the motive, if a crime is committed against a
minority or a special interest group then it is somehow deemed much
worse. In my view all these crimes are terrible, for the sake of the
victims and victims families they should all be dealt with equally
harshly.

I
started to become aware of how bad things are getting when I witnessed
the destruction of the British Fire Service by New Labour.
Fortunately, I retired from the Fire Service this year after over 30
years' service. PC is just one of the weapons in the Left's
armoury (compulsory culture change, taxation & education being other
examples). I am doing lots of research into this subject, and I
have noticed that there is a growing momentum against PC, especially in
the 'blogosphere'. Thank you for your campaign and bringing it to
the attention of the people.

It
seems that most of the Western World has forgotten why we fought World
War 2 and what so many good men died for. For it is the same social
tyranny we fought so hard to destroy that is now a mandatory social code
thanks to do gooders who think themselves superior to the rest of us and
think their social ideology is the one everyone MUST abide by. We
still have a choice for we can still stop the PC movement - we were all
born free - lets keep it that way for future generations.

I
am totally frustrated by the PC brigade and their stupid ideas.
They are ruining our way of life and destroying our heritage. I
feel particularly sorry for today's children who are prevented from
enjoying all the games and pursuits that my generation took for granted.
As for all their ideas about offending ethnic minorities, it's about
time they realised these people are not offended by our way of life - or
our religion. Any right minded people respect the beliefs of
others, whoever they may be. The same goes for our flag - it is
nonsense to suggest it might upset anyone. For example, we have
two shops in the village owned by Asians and they both display large St
George's flags in their windows. Perhaps the PC brigade have not heard
of "when in Rome....". Keep up the good work!

I
am uncomfortable about the term 'Racism'.
This word is bandied about as if we all agree upon its meaning. I for
one don't. What defines race, and where does that definition end?
Is it skin colour? Country of origin? First language? Lifestyle? The
list is endless. It doesn't seem so long ago that a certain
dictator was satisfied to described the ideal German race as fair-haired
and blue-eyed. Without a clear definition of the word we could
find ourselves the subject of a prosecution under the race relations act
for a perceived insult against almost anyone.

The
use of the word black is the most ludicrous of all the P.C. nonsense. When
you say "blackboard" you are describing a board that is black,
nothing more. However, when you refer to an afro-caribbean person as
black you are being inaccurate as they are, in fact, various shades of
brown. I recently worked with a "black" man from South
Africa who frequently used the word "coloured" to describe
himself. He saw no problem with the word, apparently this is common in
South Africa. Try it here and they will string you up by your
thumbs. Controlling the way you talk, and what you say, is the
first step to controlling what you think. People are terrified to
say what they think for fear of causing offence. Orwell was not wrong
when he wrote 1984 - he just set it 20 years early.

I
have charted the rise of PC through university & workplace.
From middle class guilt, PC has mutated into a self serving, power
wielding tyranny. PC now infects all institutions & private life,
creating division & suspicion. Comments express the confusion &
alarm of ordinary people to each example, but these are often seen in
isolation. What people need to understand are the underlying reasons for
its expansion, the conditions that promote & reward its growth.
There is a correlation of conditions repeating
across institutions, though their functions differ they follow the same
piper.

On joining the Army back in 84, we had to go through
squillions of forms. On each form was the question about nationality.
There were 2 boxes. For me the options were British English as opposed
to Welsh or Scottish British. I am English and very proud to be
so. I live in the British Isles. This has all changed now so as not
to upset people who might not like to be what they were born.
Also, my sister was stopped from singing 'baa baa black
sheep' and 'sing a song of sixpence' because they had racist
connotations. If black birds are not black, then what colour are
they? Hey kids look, its a not-so-bright bird! Or a non white

In
my view the whole structure of P.C. is based on the notion of protecting
others from being made to feel uncomfortable for whatever reason and
whether they require that protection or not. Exponents of P.C. can
therefore feel smug about themselves, not requiring such protection for
themselves. Making assumptions on other people's behalf is
patronising in the extreme and I for one am offended by P.C. on behalf
of all the minority groups who they claim to speak for. Let those
busybodies mind their own business and let offended people speak for
themselves if they have a grievance. We will no doubt find them
perfectly tolerant and understanding.

The
fight against political correctness must dispense with the idea that PC
supporters are merely naive do-gooders. PC is not a joke, nor is
the main danger the threat to free speech, important though this is.
Also, it is not, as many of its opponents imply, mere stupidity. It is,
in fact, a very clever technique which enables the members of the
political/legal class to exert power over, and enrich themselves at the
cost of, a majority of the population by identifying subsets of that
population and setting these groups against the majority to the benefit
of that same political/legal class. It is accomplishing this with
a combination of psychological/political blackmail and legal measures
including acts like the Human Rights Act.

money, take their medication, do their own shopping etc. Presumably the
fact that they needed a translation to understand a basic level of
English was some clue as to their ability, although for all I know they
spoke good English and it was just a loony managerial decision to order
a translation. However, the most ridiculous thing about it was that the
health trust did not wait for me to bill them for the work, it paid up
immediately, DOUBLE the amount I would have charged, and even apologised
that it couldn't be more.

Whilst
working in Police Communications, a radio operator made a verbal mistake
and apologised, saying she'd had a 'Blonde Moment'. Another female
police officer overheard and reported her. The radio operator was
reprimanded for the saying as it was deemed to be offensive. Ironically,
she was blonde herself!

What
on earth is wrong with saying baa baa BLACK sheep?? It is a rhyme about
a sheep that is black. Soon my black trousers will be "trousers of
ethnic origin" or some such rubbish.

Great
to find your website and campaign. I'd never seek to hurt or offend
anyone but the way we've gone is destroying all that was built up, by
the generations behind us. We now have a country only worth leaving for
the sensibilities of other nations like New Zealand.

My
daughter has "learning difficulties". NO SHE HAS NOT.
Someone who is dyslexic or (like me) cannot do maths has "learning
difficulties." She has mild cerebral palsy and therefore is
handicapped throughout her life!!

I
have to admit that I took perverse (if I am allowed to say that)
pleasure when being asked my ethnicity at my local hospital by saying
that I am 'White English'. Once I was told I had to be 'White
British' so I politely told the woman that as I was born in ENGLAND I
was English. She was not very happy but as far as I am aware
England is still a country.

Keep
up the good work and I'll have a black coffee without being labelled a
racist. Realising that 2005 was the year when the British people
finally rebelled against political correctness I hope that the PC
brigade will crawl back to the hole they came from and never return.

| On
the appointment of a new Disability Czar:
It would be totally wrong for someone with mild
learning disability to speak and act on behalf of those with profound
learning difficulties.
I hope, therefore, that this new position will be available to people
with no verbal communication, the deafblind and the totally illiterate.
In all fairness, it MUST be advertised in all learning difficulty
journals, in braille and on audio cassette, at least in English and
Welsh.
The candidates and the appointee must be provided with a facilitator
and, if necessary, an interpreter and communication board. The person
may well also need a full time carer, a qualified nurse and a
physiotherapist. He or she will also need a chauffeur as it will be
necessary to visit and study the full range of learning difficulty
persons across the UK.
I would have thought that the person who dreamt this up was eminently
suitable for the post!

I
work for the NHS so don't feel I can openly sign your petition but I
strongly believe that political correctness actually causes more
racism. It is because of my concern for people from other races
that I am writing this. I feel that ordinary law abiding, caring,
open-minded citizens feel threatened when they are told that they are
unable to celebrate their own culture in the way they want to.
Many people I have talked to have expressed these views but do not feel
safe to express them fearing they will be tarnished as racist. It
smacks of living in a fascist state. I used to read about
Communist Russia and China and how they were suppressed from free speech
and now people are talking in hushed tones only to people they feel
"safe" with - and this is the UK in the 21st Century. I
for one am very grateful for this site where I can express my fears -
but alas, anonymously!

After
two years applying for a new job I always refuse to fill in
"equality" forms. If you don't ask me if I'm single,
black, white, old or just plain stupid you can then certainly treat my
application with equality based on my qualifications and experience for
that job.

I
believe that, at a minimum, if you are going to make a stupid decision
(like the person who decided that the fire brigade could not have a St
George's Flag on their fire engine) the very least you should do is go
public and defend it and not hide behind "no comment".

| Political
correctness is mad and most of the time insults and patronises the very
people it thinks it is trying to protect, not to mention wasting
millions and millions of Joe Public's money. Come the next General
Election I would vote for ANY party which actually has in its manifesto
a pledge to outlaw political correctness. |
