In my experience all these
over the top things that are going on such as banning christmas nativity
and stopping children playing ''hide and seek'' because it might offend
Sikh people is just ridiculous and not one person I have spoken to is
offended by any of these things. There is a difference between being
racist or sexist or anything else which really is unacceptable and just
over the top political correctness gone way to far. We are getting the
blame for this and we never asked for any of it and don't want it. I mean
most people even those who aren't Christian celebrate Christmas so its all
just ridiculous. |

Nobody cares about my sexual
preference and everybody respects me for it. I have the same rights as
everybody else, I don't need people lobbying for me. If this continues
I'll have more rights than everybody else! |

I'm half Chinese, but I've
lived in the UK for my whole life and so can't see why I should be treated
differently and skirted around just because of my ethnicity. It seems that
all this PC nonsense has been instituted for the sake of doing something
rather than for opposing a genuine breach of human rights. In the end it
riles up a lot more people than it appeases, British or otherwise. |

As a gay man of mixed race I vehemently
oppose positive discrimination and "equal opportunity" quotas.
Apart from the fact that I find them patronising, I feel they are counter
productive and only serve to further segregate people. |

I am a 16 year old student, I am half British

(where I was born), it is a lot more free. The teacher stopped me saying
Brainstorm, and I used to be able to say baa baa black sheep when I was a
little kid, but not anymore. Its stupid and not funny anymore, we need
free speech here in Britain. |

I'm disabled and confined to wheelchair. I'm SICK of
people assuming that because I'm in a wheelchair my brain has sunk into my bottom, so I must be ignored, patronised, PATTED ON THE HEAD (Yes!
Honestly!) Or my wheelchair 'pusher' addressed by shopkeepers, who look over my head and explain whatever, whilst I'm the customer, I'm paying, yet I'm the one being ignored!!! I could go on and
on... And have you read any official literature, forms etc for the use of disabled or 'seniors' They're all written in idiotspeak, so we of little brain can try to puzzle them out. |

My working life has been
committed to the traditional dialects of Scotland (Scots). Recently I have
also been working in the area of local studies in public libraries.
Proponents of traditional (often working-class) culture still tend to
believe that the ideology of 'diversity' is good for them - and in theory
it should be. But in practice, every minority culture is promoted EXCEPT
the indigenous; and national / regional attachments and traditions are
seen as atavistic and as an obstacle to the integration of newer ethnic
minorities. Members of these minorities, on the contrary, are often
delighted to be able to participate in local traditions. |

I am gay AND Jewish, great mix eh? I used to laugh
at how PC we were becoming but now it really is a cause of concern, for
example, when so many people complained about Chris Moyles using the
word 'gay' on radio. So what? Do these people honestly think
that Chris Moyles is homophobic? Can no-one say anything anymore?
Secondly, who on earth has the right to make our schools
and calendars read 'winter festival' or 'winter holidays' instead of
Christmas? I'm Jewish and reasonably religious - myself and every
other Jewish person I know agrees that Christmas should stay as
Christmas, this is a predominantly Christian country and always will be,
why should people of any other religion be offended????? This
December, if I see the word 'winter' tree or 'happy winter' I will be
sure to get the graffiti out!

I am just so tired of
"politically correct" people dividing people who would not have
thought about the issue in the first instance. Thank you for having
your campaign. I have been thinking that there is nothing left in
the world but madness and after being turned down for a job I was more
qualified and experienced for than the other candidates, due to my colour
(white), I feel it is time to do something. |

Being female is my
"official" qualification for being "protected" by
political correctness. But political correctness has gone so far now, that
being white and heterosexual forces me into a position where I feel
intimidated. I resent having to watch the way I describe a person if I am
not allowed to refer to somebody as fat, or black or blind or whatever. It
is not an insult, just a statement of facts!!

At only 15 I dread to think
of growing up in a nation where I won't be able to experience half the
things that this country used to offer, but now "cannot" because
of Health and Safety and Political Correctness. It's restrictive and is
systematically destroying out integral Britishness by attempting to
control how we think and talk to others. I shouldn't have to treat someone
special just because they'd rather kiss a man than a woman! I should have
to treat them like a human being and that's what I want to do, not have to
pussyfoot around my words on the off-chance that they are one of those
idiot militants who'll sue! It just isn't right or proper or decent. And I
don't want to be protected just because I'm crippled, if I can open my own
doors I will and if I feel too tired or the door is too heavy I'm
perfectly grateful for someone more capable to do it. Can we just have
some common sense around here please?

As a woman of pensionable
age, I suppose I am considered a victim on two counts. I
strongly resent this as I am perfectly capable of looking after myself and
live a full and active life. I still consider myself as one who can assist
others rather than needing assistance. If and when I feel that I need
help, I will not hesitate to ask for it - until then, don't presume to
tell me what I need! I am also a Christian and while I am happy for
others to follow their own religion or none, I will not apologise for my
beliefs and will continue to refer to Christmas, Good Friday, Easter etc.
by their proper names. Despite the popular belief that Christianity
is obsolete in this country (which I doubt) its festivals are an integral
part of our culture and should be respected by all.

I personally hate PC in all
areas for a number of reasons. Take me for example - I am disabled.
If I apply for a job and I meet the qualification criteria and nothing
else I am instantly put forward for an interview which is crazy but
failing that the firm would be labelled as discriminatory against
disabled people. So someone else who might be much better at a job
would lose out because of this PC stupidness. I also believe it
gives priority to one "Minority" group over the other.
Polichickens say that religion is the opiate of the masses I say PC is the
opiate of polichickens. |

Please, not in my name.
I don't need victimhood or special treatment. Political correctness is making artificial differences
between people unnecessarily. Special treatment for minority groups
in a lot of cases breeds resentment from those not included who have
genuine need of help. |

Whether or not men with any
degree of homosexual inclination or tendency constitute a 'minority' or
not is actually impossible to determine.
Men who do not conform to such a stereotype are not deemed to be 'gay',
meaning that all those who do not conform to the stereotypical identifying
characteristics but yet have homosexual inclinations, whether openly or
otherwise, slip through the net of identification. This brings me back to
my argument that it is impossible to determine how many men have a
homosexual nature in any measure, so how can homosexuality in people be
determined by any degree of accuracy to constitute a minority?
